a (not so) brief look at 2009
I haven’t really done this officially on a blog before, but it showed up as a topic on 20sb, so I’m going to give it ago. 2009 in review. January Excerpt from a January 2009 blog: On staph  “The nurse comes over to me and says “I’m not scheduled to work in here tomorrow. I’ll be in the women’s clinic. When you come in for your appointment, you tell them...

because everyone needs 6 bottles of bbq sauce
I forgot to mention earlier… As a result of the 2 of us living apart for 4 months and then combining all our crap, we now have the equivalent of about 6 bottles of bbq sauce, 4 bottles of olive oil, 2 large Sam’s granola bar packs, 3 small granola bar packs, and about 7 boxes of crackers of some sort (Triscuits, Wheat Thins, etc). Oy.

Day 3: boxes everywhere
I think I’m coming down with a cold.  In Florida.  Not cool. The movers came yesterday to drop off all our stuff.  We unpacked the kitchen last night, which was an extreme challenge.  It’s unreal how much stuff we have.  We lost a little bit of cabinet space in this move, so we got rid of a lot of stuff and crammed everything else in. Last night, I started unpacking what I could of...

day 1: "holy cow, I'm here," bad drivers, and a...
Well, we are officially here together in Clermont with no immediate plans of going back to Tennessee (that’s not entirely true.  Josh goes back in January for work, and we both go back in March for a wedding).  It didn’t really hit me until we had been in the house for about an hour that all this is really happening.  Then I felt kind of strange and empty because I’m not a...

Husband and I are hanging out with family for Christmas and our last weekend in Tennessee. I am thrilled by the gps and book (the time travelers wife) that husband got me, a book (Jesus for President) that parents got me, and the very welcomed money via various family members. I’m also thrilled, thankful, and humbled greatly by the thought my tiny Savior lying in a manger over 2000...

steins, sewing machines, and hunks of metal.
I wish I could cut off my roof and show you a picture from the top of my house.  It basically looks like each room individually imploded. Moving is a hassle. I had planned on elaborating on this a little bit, but there simply isn’t enough time.  Thus, I’ll leave you with this little hint into our world right now.  In my hallway/living room, there is currently: a giant...

enough is enough
This is a slightly unusual post.  I’m writing my last college paper for a criminal psychology class.  The topic is domestic violence.  Domestic violence is a topic I’m beyond passionate about as far as creating awareness and promoting action to stop it. As I’ve picked up a little blog traffic over the last few days, I’m going to make this post a little intro to domestic...

leaving, going, figuring things out.
I have three pages left on my very last college final/paper, but I’m putting it aside for a couple hours to blog now and go to Bible study in a few minutes. I’ve been trying to set aside time for all the people I’ll miss terribly after leaving.  Unfortunately, there just doesn’t seem to be enough time left to do all the things I want to do.  I saw two childhood friends...

karma is fast.
I’m at my parent’s house tonight so I can spend a little time with them before the big move.  They have a tiny little 7 lb dog named Moco who hasn’t quite caught on to any commands yet.  While my mom was making dinner, I decided to work with Moco on the “Sit” command.  He didn’t have any treats that were ideal for training, so I individual pieces of his...

(SO)cial (ME)dia: the conflict between personal...
I think at lightning speed, which means I’ll often skip formal introductions on blog posts before I forget all the things I want to say.  This is such a time. I think the generational gap between how my age group (twenty somethings) and other age groups (primarily older) view social media may be challenging for myself and my peers who hope to get jobs in the ever-changing ad industry....

So if I’ve subscribed to your blog or am following you on twitter, and you clicked on the link to this blog thinking “Who is the person?  I’m pretty sure I don’t know you,” then: 1.  You don’t know me, but 2.  it would be nice if you did, because 3.  I’m moving to Clermont in less than a month, and 4.  meeting people is fun? In a nutshell, just roll...

a little more of me
There’s something about major life changes that lead me to start a new blog.  I’ve been blogging since 2002 via Diaryland, LiveJournal, Xanga, Mindsay, Blogger, Wordpress, you name it.  As my life has evolved, so has the blogging world.  We’re both looking for bigger and better things. This blog stems out of my impending college graduation.  In only 2 weeks, I’ll walk in a...
